Software Engineering Consultant

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineering Consultant to lead the migration of legacy infrastructure
to modern cloud-based platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing
scalable cloud architectures while addressing the challenges of transitioning monolithic systems to microservices-based
or serverless infrastructures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, minimal
downtime, and alignment with industry best practices for cloud computing.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing legacy systems to identify migration requirements, potential risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Design and implement cloud-based architectures using AWS, Microsoft Azure, or similar platforms.
  • Develop and deploy automation pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Refactor monolithic applications into microservices or serverless architectures using containers (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security by implementing best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, and cloud governance.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and optimize application performance in the cloud environment.
  • Provide technical documentation and training to ensure teams are equipped to manage and operate the cloud infrastructure post-migration.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud migration and infrastructure design.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Azure Functions, and AKS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go for building cloud-native applications.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and cloud governance best practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience migrating on-premises infrastructure to AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar.
